Asha Marchant

I was looking for a health club to join and happened to be mutual friends with Matt Joseph who introduced me to the club and community health in general! UH HICH was the first time I was introduced to public health and the concepts surrounding the social determinants of health. The experiences and lessons learned through HICH have given me a better grasp of understanding these concepts in PT school. In addition, I was given a new lens to look at healthcare and how my job as a physical therapist can, directly and indirectly, be affected by public health. Overall, the knowledge and experiences gained through HICH will help me become a better clinician once I graduate!
