4 Semesters in HICH
My Involvement
I joined HICH because I wanted to incorporate health into my studies. I was intrigued by its small member count, realizing that it was an opportunity to build and expand ideas about specific projects that students could design and implement in the local community. It liked that it was self-driven and comprised of teams that could fluidly join other teams. I believed this helped spark creativity and inspiration.
I remember helping out with the original logo and planning meetings, but I was mainly involved in Creative Care as one of the executives. The job consisted of organizing meetings to brainstorm workshops for student wellness, contacting outside organizations in hopes of collaborating, designing, and producing presentations for update meetings.
Favorite Memory
My favorite HICH moment was holding a meditation session at one of the Honors events as one of the breaks. I remember Fatema led it, leading to laughter and smiles from the audience. It was super successful with lots of great feedback from the faculty and students. Those moments of planning and seeing our ideas turn into reality is what drove most of us, I think.
